Shepton Mallet Arts Cafe Folk Club

Barry Lane and the Fridge Mechanics appeared at Priston Festival in 2022 and we were asked by the stage organiser, Johny Francis, if we would do a gig at his monthly folk club in Shepton Mallet, nr Bath, UK. We were delighted at the opportunity and arranged to play there in April 2023. It was a very special gig, not only expertly and deftly managed by Johny and his amazing sound man Bob, but also held by an audience who really appreciated the music and the songs. The Band, Barry Lane (Vox/Guitars), Nina Lifely (Vox, Woodwind), Richard Godfrey (guitars), Kevan Atrridge (sax), Jon Attree (bass) and Darren Green (percussion) together with David Punter reading his poetry and narrating, everyone played their hearts out.

It was also very nice that Nina, our lead singer, was able to do 4 songs from her own repertoire as a singer/songwriter. She played beautifully with Paul Craze on Bousouki. We are hoping to return to Shepton Mallet sometime in the near future.
